UNLEASH - Embodied Art workshop for women

CREATIVITY IS LIFE...

As women, we are naturally creators and often when we are blocked in our creativity, we find it hard to go with the flow of life.

When was the last time you allowed yourself, to indulge in the pleasure of creating purely for yourself, without shrinking or judging yourself, or feeling your creativity is just not good enough?

As women, we can be so hard on ourselves, and this tends to happen in our minds, when we are given permission to create from an embodied space, we allow ourselves the freedom to embrace the truth, of what’s really happening deep inside.

In this workshop, you will be exploring your feelings through Art, Movement and Sound. Inviting you to stay curious around your blocks, witnessing yourself in what arises from that space.

In my journey of guiding women through embodied Art practices, I’ve witnessed so much beauty, liberation, expansion allowing women really owning their creativity... their original essence!

This workshop is an invitation to UNLEASH your creative expression, guided in a safe, nurturing, held fun space as a way to expand and awaken your aliveness.

FACILITATOR

Hello I’m Freer a local Artist from Ocean Shores.

I started expressing my creativity at the age of 5, as a way of getting in touch with the trauma, my body didn’t have a voice for.

I’ve spent most of my life drawing, painting, creating, designing, and turning my environment into a living expression of my inner world and yet, in my expression of Art, I was not free.

I’ve spent most of my life being a perfectionist and criticising my work, it just never felt good enough.

This all changed for me when I studied ‘Body-Based Psychotherapy’ and worked in a Trauma Healing Centre for 5 years processing myself and the guests trough embodied Art therapy practices. It was there I learned to let go and get in touch with my real feelings.

This has totally changed my relationship to Art, the more I’m willing to get honest with my feelings, the more real and authentic my Art has become, the pleasure and freedom have become endless, it has gifted me so much confidence.

WHAT TO BRING

- A cushion to sit on

- Bottle of water

- Your own lunch

- Comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting paint on

WHAT’S PROVIDED

- Afternoon snack

- 30x40 marine hardwood board (painted white on one side)

- A3 art paper

- Acrylic paints

- Paintbrushes

- Oil pastels

- Led pencils

- Cotton cloth to place over your cushion

COVID

Due to the Covid restrictions, we are limited to a number of 20 participants.

I will be providing hand sanitizer on the day, in regards to your safety.
